Next step: the pre-check for CHF 90, with a written report within 48 hours.
Indicative result, based on the legal residence periods only.
What the test checks
The test compares your answers with the periods set by the Swiss Citizenship Act and by your canton:
- the C permit, required for ordinary naturalisation;
- 10 years of residence in Switzerland, with years lived between the ages of 8 and 18 counting double (and at least 6 years of actual residence);
- the minimum period in the canton, from 2 to 5 years depending on the canton;
- for the spouse of a Swiss citizen, the 3 years of marriage and 5 years of residence required for facilitated naturalisation.
What the test does not check
Naturalisation does not depend on years alone. The authorities also look at your integration, your language level (B1 spoken, A2 written), whether you have received social assistance in the last 3 years, any debt collection proceedings and your criminal record. That is what our pre-check for CHF 90 covers, with a written report within 48 hours.
